So Grateful

May 26th, 2017

Just sitting here, lost in thought regarding those who have fought for our country, and those who have fought for the Kingdom of God.  Soldiers of war, naturally and spiritually.I’m wondering what they would say with the state of the church.

The church should be setting the pace for the things of this world. And yet, we seem to have been getting caught up with this old world’s way of thinking and acting. Our words and our actions should be lining up with God’s Word.  He’s not changing according to our ‘times’ and our emotions. His Word is sure, and is from everlasting to everlasting.

I’m challenged to pray for our nation, our leaders, our spiritual leaders.  God’s Word is still our instruction manual.  His Word is still true, and the basis for our everyday living. I cannot and shall not be ‘moved’.

Quiet Down

May 18th, 2017

Sometimes we need to STOP and determine to listen for The Heavenly Father’s voice.

He’s leading me to slow down and lean on Him each and everyday. So, I’m spending a little more time in prayer and the Word. Meditating and speaking to myself in psalms…singing to Him songs of praise and thanksgiving.

New Journey

April 25th, 2017

Life is wonderful.  Life is great!  I am truly blessed, I just celebrated my 61st birthday.

I shared this little thought with a very good friend:

“When I was 20, folks who were 40 were old.
When I was 30, folks who were 50 were ancient.
Well, now that I’m in my sixties…. I don’t consider myself either.  In fact, I’m thinking just the opposite.
Life can be what you make it:
If you wanna feel old and tired… you will.
If you want to allow the Life of God to restore, strengthen, and enable you…. you can.”

I choose Life.  I choose Health. I choose Joy! I choose Peace.  I choose Happiness.
I choose JESUS!

The Key

April 8th, 2017

Just a quick thought this morning.

After all that God has done for us, we must know that baking covenant fellowship with HIM opens the door for the enemy to steal your health, your finances, and your relationships.

We must not be so naive about the work of satan in this old world. He (the enemy) comes to steal, kill, and to destroy. The devil is real. His intentions are real. And to be real honest…he doesn’t even like you.

But GOD loves you and HE wants the best for you. HE sent His Son for you and for me.

Guard your heart. Don’t let the things if this world distract you.

  • Commit yourself and your ways to HIM.
  • Seek HIM first
  • Follow after HIM with your entire being.
  • Hunger for more of HIM

The point here is this:

“We cannot afford to turn back now”.

Why Question God’s Faithfulness?

March 20th, 2017

Mark 8: Jesus knew what they were discussing and said, “Why are you talking about the fact that you don’t have any bread? Don’t you grasp what has happened? Don’t you understand? Are your hearts so resistant to what God is doing? 18 Don’t you have eyes? Why can’t you see? Don’t you have ears? Why can’t you hear? Don’t you remember? 19 When I broke five loaves of bread for those five thousand people, how many baskets full of leftovers did you gather?” They answered, “Twelve.” 20“And when I broke seven loaves of bread for those four thousand people, how many baskets full of leftovers did you gather?” They answered, “Seven.”

How many times have you questioned….

  • Will He provide?  When will He do it for me?  How is it gonna happen?”

Years ago, we had just purchased our home, and we had 2 young children.  Along with the news that we were expecting our 3rd child, we learned the plant was soon to close.  He searched for jobs, it took a while, but eventually he got a job in Oklahoma. Praise the Lord…
I can assure you that there were many nights I sat at my kitchen table trying to figure out how the bills were going to get paid. I used pencil and paper, (notebook after notebook) calculators,  and yet they never seemed to add up.  I was always short. Here’s my story:

We were faithful church goers and tithers.  And although there were times I just ‘didn’t know’ how or when, still I trusted God. I knew He’d make a way. (I learned that I could cook on a nickel if I had to) But with three children there were times…. times that I questioned.  At one point I was fasting and praying and doing all I knew to do. He worked 3rd shift a lot, and so midnight became my prayer and study time. I knew we could make it as long as we trusted God with everything.  I was building my faith. I was building our home and filling it with The Word of God and His Love.
And then, suddenly, my eyes were opened and fixed on a scripture… I found it would take me through the hard times, and in to the good times. I took these verses, they were my bread and my water. These words sustained me. Whenever I felt weak, I would go over and over these verses, meditating on the Goodness and the Faithfulness of my Heavenly Father. Yes, these Words became Life to me.

Psalms 37:
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

So, if you’re struggling today, there is an answer. Take the time, build your faith, build yourself in prayer.
Listen, at the foot of the cross, on the basis of His Blood, and His Love for me, I’ve  learned to trust in Him for everything.
I am a ‘friend of God’,
