Stop Warring in the Flesh

September 22nd, 2017

2 Corinthians 10: 3  “For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. 4  The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses ” (AMP)

My heart aches for the ‘church’ today.  In times of upheaval and turmoil, we have turned to the world’s way of dealing with current issues. We have put on the’thinking’cap’ of this generation. We seem to have forgotten who we are, we’ve stood idly by and let the enemy infiltrate our camp. We are, and have been, entangling ourselves with the world’s way of thinking and acting.  (We are ‘in’ this ol’ world, yet we are not to be ‘of’ this ol’ world)

There is way too much division, and it’s crossed over in to the church. We march, we scream, we demand… but, we are not fighting the fight of faith. We somehow think that we must compromise the message of the gospel in order to reach the hurting.  We can NOT help them when we don’t present the message of The Lord.  We cannot share God’s Love when we argue and fight each other. We don’t represent The Father when we paint the road broader to include everybody.  I’m concerned… concerned that holiness, righteousness, and God’s power is not what we are teaching/living.

There’s a song, “People Need The Lord”.  Each time I hear it, each time I sing it, I am reminded that it’s not about ‘me’, it’s about Jesus. Folks, they pass us everyday… in the store, on our job, at school… hurting people everywhere. We may be the only ‘bible’ that many will read. I don’t think that they need us to stand and divide them with our bitterness and anger. The Love of God compels us to reach them with His Message.

Let our lives reflect Jesus!  Let our words present Jesus!

Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, immovable] rock and my Redeemer.”
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.  31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
I pray these scriptures daily,
My sole desire, My soul’s desire,

Declare Daily

September 21st, 2017

“God’s Word says I am blessed… so I am! I’ve got the Burden removing, Yoke destroying, Power of God in my life. Now, God’s Word says I am blessed… so I am.”

There is something to waking up with a song on your heart… All day long I will declare this.

I’m not moved by things I see, or even by things I feel. I choose to declare God’s Word… Why? Cause God’s Word is so very real. HE is faithful to perform His Word. He is faithful to me.

Blessing n Favour,

Thoughtful & Thankful

September 8th, 2017

I’ve been thinking on all the things taking place in this ol’ world.  But I am reminded continually that my God is greater, far greater, than anything that we see in this physical and natural world.

Church, we must begin to focus on His Word, and commit to living it out daily.  Guard your hearts and the words of your mouth. Check your attitudes and actions in the ‘mirror’ of God’s Word.  The Church needs to step up, calm ourselves and prepare our hearts daily. We need the compassion of Jesus Christ, we need the heart of The Father. We are to minister God’s Love.

I think the one thing that stirs my heart the most….

Too much of the church has taken up the worlds warfare. But we must go back to the foundation of The Word of God.  We must stand bold, and declare His Love and Mercy. We cannot link arms with the enemy and expect to win.  We are chosen, ‘called out‘ to be separate from this old world’s way of doing things.  We cannot walk, talk, and act like the ‘world’, and expect to lead them to The Father.  There’s something different about the Christian life.  They ought to be able to distinguish us from the rest of the world.  Church, check your love-walk.  Check your attitude.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Psalms 19: 14

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Matthew 12: 35-37

35  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

These are a few things that God has reminded me of. I am careful when I speak…

I want my heart and my words to reflect The Father,

Thoughts For Our Future

September 5th, 2017

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Thinking back there were many nights I sat with pen and paper mapping out plans and finances.  Did I ever come up with the solution on my own? No. But I did realize that God was my answer. God was, and is, and will always be our source.

God knows the things that we are going thru, He knows the struggles and the pain. But I am reminded that He is ‘fighting for me’ on a daily basis.  I think on songs, Psalms, and hymns, and realize that I stand on the brink of a miracle.  I will not sell Him short. He is faithful to me.

So, I just want to encourage you to stand firm on His Word. Tell the devil, “No more, no more will I allow panic or stress to take my focus away from the Promise of God for my life, my family, and all that pertains to me.  I am who He says I am.  I have what He says I have.  I can do what He says I can do. I will follow after His Plan for my life.

God bless you,

Repentance… A Day in the Life

August 11th, 2017

Excerpts from a recent message.

Proverbs 28:13
King James Bible
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”

The Bible is God speaking to us. If Jesus came to us in the flesh he would speak Scripture and words that correspond and confirm scripture. Repentance is (or should be) a part of the everyday Christian life.. Or “A day in the life”. Living in this fallen world, we are constantly reminded of the sin “that so easily besets us”. One point: unconfessed sin is unforgiven sin. To be sure, God in His great plan of Redemption laid all of our sins on Jesus at the cross. But we must accept the forgiveness that God offers. This is a daily walk. He gives us this day our daily bread. Like the manna in the days of old.

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
We must repent daily and ask for Jesus Holy Blood to wash us afresh. “…the Blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” “If we say that we have no sin, then we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
I have a question: in the light of Proverbs 28:13… Wonder what would’ve happened if Adam in the Garden after he sinned would’ve immediately confessed his sin? He doesn’t…he plays the blame game. “It’s the woman you gave me”.. In effect blaming God. “If you hadn’t given me that woman…” And that’s in every human DNA. Blame someone else. Sad really. Because until we accept responsibility for our circumstances God can do little to help. (Even if the circumstances are not necessarily your fault)
I’ve learned that some folk want help but don’t want to change.
In 2 Chronicles there is recorded for our admonition a story of King Ahaz. Now Ahaz was not a nice man. He caused Judah to sin. As king he even sacrificed his own children in the fire to appease demon gods. And then once his sin caused the nation to be destroyed, Ahaz refuses to repent and doubles down on stupid and says: “the gods of the Assyrians helped them, maybe if I sacrifice to them they will help me too.”
And the Bible says the gods “were the ruin of him”. And Judah suffered for his decisions because he was the leader. Ahaz is an OT poster child for what NOT to do. As I humbly see it, Ahaz had a choice. He could’ve turned to God in repentance and God would’ve forgiven him & spared his nation. He knew better. But, beloved many times folk know better but they don’t do better. Bad times for nation of Judah. Everything rises & falls on leadership.

Let us all exercise our leadership potential and turn to God in true repentance. He will abundantly pardon.

God bless you today.
