Praying Brings Me Great Peace

Friday, June 16th, 2017

I am deeply troubled by the division in our nation… yes, even the division in our churches.

The hatred, the name calling, the smearing of authority is getting ridiculous. I get it that some don’t like authority and consider themselves to be judge and jury, but I think it’s getting way out of hand.  To allow these things to take over in the church is NOT good. I think, in fact I know, God is not pleased. So to the Church I say, go back and seek God’s Word and then step forward as a good soldier. We may not agree with everything, but it is our responsibility to agree and to act on the Word of God.

When I say ‘these things are not good’ perhaps I can expound…
The church is taking to the social media and proclaiming hatred toward our President, our nation, church leadership, even our law enforcement. Again, we may not agree with everything said and done, but we must learn to guard our heart and our words.  Recent events seem to stir up strife and bitterness. If we continually allow this to enter into the church, we do a great disservice to our Heavenly Father. His instruction is quite clear that ‘we’ must turn to Him, and that we must learn to pray according to His Word. If we join with the world’s attitude we cannot expect the blessing, the peace of God in our lives. I for one want to experience God’s best. He tells us that blessing and cursing cannot/shouldn’t come from the same fountain. Don’t expect God’s Best when you continue to dish out words contrary to His commands.

II Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

II Timothy 2:1-6
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Let us all return to the things of God.
*That without the love of God there is no power in prayer.
*Without faith in God’s ability to handle the current situation, we cannot pray effectively.
*Faith worketh by love…
Church, don’t limit your prayer life.

From my heart,

Pastor Lovie

It’s Prayer Time

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

James 5:16 AMP

Confidence In Him

Monday, May 2nd, 2016

This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us. And if we know [for a fact, as indeed we do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted to us] the requests which we have asked from Him.
